In twelve years of marriage, our family has lived in 5 homes, on 2 coasts, in 3 states, and in 2 countries. I’m striving to create a strong, resilient and happy family despite moving far from family and friends. Dave (my husband) and I believe life is an adventure, and we are blessed to have many places we call home.
I started this blog as a way to document our family’s moves and adventures, but it’s turned into so much more that that.
The world is enormous, childhood is fleeting; life is an adventure. My little family is blooming in our new home(s) while maintaining deep roots.
We’re finding that balance between adventure and reality; setting up homes and systems that create time for fun; maintaining connections despite time and distance; navigating logistical-nightmare moves with … grace (was gonna say ease, but I’ll keep it real!); and figuring out parenting as we go.
In the past 10 years, I’ve:
had two kids under two
had three children under age four
survived 2 intensive years of daily therapy for our son
had a husband who traveled 2 out of every 4 weeks
lived in a different country from my husband (married single mom)
lived 3000 miles from family and in a different country from family
and were separated from family and friends by a closed international border (covid) for 19 months
If I can find joy in parenting, so can you!
I’m here to help you eliminate your Groundhog’s Day symptoms (I think I just coined a phrase!). I’m here to help you become a calmer and more connected parent. And I’m here to inspire you to be creative, get outside, and create joy in your life.
Being a mom is like no other job in the world- it can be lonely. But we aren’t alone. We have each other. I love sharing what’s worked for me, and I know you can transform your home and find joy in motherhood, too.
